Beauty With the Ashes

Genesis 50:20-21
You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.
How many times in life do we become discouraged because something wasn't going the way we planned?  We think we should do this or that but when we start it doesn't work so we get discouraged.
A couple of years ago a friend if mine went to one of his treestands for an evening hunt only to find the power company clearing limbs near by.  So he went to another location and had a farmer come out to work a field.  Dejected and depressed he went back home and decided to climb into a stand he had no confidence in, for the last hour of hunting.  Within minutes a good 10 point buck came by and he harvested it.
We never know what is ahead.  However, if we trust God we can always know that even when bad things happen He can turn it for good.
I can't say that God had a plan for that friend and the 10 point buck (maybe just for this devotional) but I can say that He has a plan for our lives beyond what we can imagine.
God, is so much in control that even when Satan tries to ruin our lives, God takes what Satan wants to use to harm us and turns it into good things. He says, If you will lean on Me in the middle of difficult times, I’ll take that pain and make it for your good.
Casting Crowns has a song called "JUST BE HELD".  My favorite line in the song is, "I'm painting beauty with the ashes, your life is in My hands".
Allow God to take the ashes of your life, the pain, the hurt, the disappointments, and the disasters and allow Him to use them to make a beautiful painting of your future.
